Did you know that your pets’ dental health is just as important as your own? There are three important things to realize about maintaining your pet’s dental health:
Overall pet health
Tartar and gingivitis in your pet can lead to periodontal disease, or disease of the bones and gums surrounding the teeth. Periodontal disease can adversely affect your pet’s heart, liver and kidneys.
Expense
In the long run, maintaining your pet’s dental health is less expensive than putting it off. As stated above, periodontal disease will affect other major body systems which will be more expensive to treat than a dental prophylaxis.
Enjoyment of your pet
A healthy mouth brings with it a better relationship with your pet. It is hard to enjoy a pet with bad breath, difficulty eating or constant drooling.
